SGX Singapore Opening Market Update : Epic Research Singapore

A RECOVERY on Wall Street overnight failed to provide some relief for investors in Singapore as shares here opened lower on Wednesday, which may suggest Tuesday's rebound was short-lived.

At 9.02am, the benchmark Straits Times Index opened 24.58 points or 0.9 per cent lower at 2,613.89.

Some 58.5 million shares worth S$88.4 million changed hands. Losers outpace gainers 111 to 37.

Stocks that were actively traded included Ezra Holdings, down 8.6 per cent at 6.4 cents; Noble, down 5 per cent at 28.5 cents, and Jiutian Chemical, which slumped 10.5 per cent to 1.7 cents.
