SGX Singapore Opening Market Update : Epic Research Singapore

SINGAPORE shares opened higher on Thursday, buoyed by an abating sell-off in oil markets in early Asian trading.

At 9.01am, the benchmark Straits Times Index added 28.71 points or 1.1 per cent to 2,588.48.

Some 47.5 million shares worth S$88.3 million were traded, with gainers outpacing losers 85 to 45.

Ezra Holdings shares marked a 5 per cent rebound at the opening to 6.1 cents, Rex International added 2.9 per cent to 7.1 cents, and Loyz Energy was up 6.1 per cent to 3.5 cents.

Sembcorp Marine, subject of a privatisation rumour, continued to rise 5.7 per cent to S$1.57 one minute into its trading.
