SGX Singapore Opening Market Update : Epic Research Singapore

SINGAPORE shares opened higher on Tuesday with the Straits Times Index up 6.07 points or 0.21 per cent at 2,853.13.

A total of 76.5 million shares worth S$120.6 million changed hands as at 9.01am. Gainers outnumbered losers 72 to 50.

Elsewhere, Japanese stocks fell for the first time in four days on Tuesday ahead of a Bank of Japan monetary policy review. The Topix index declined 0.2 per cent to 1,377.31 at 9.01am in Tokyo, while the Nikkei 225 Stock Average retreated 0.2 per cent to 17,203.51.
