Singapore Press Holdings posted a 22.3% fall in 2Q earnings of $54.1 million from a year ago. Operating revenue came in 4.1% lower at $259.3 million versus $270.3 million a year ago. SPH attributed this the decline in the media business whose performance was impacted by a difficult economic environment and structural issues confronting the media industry. SPH closed flat at $3.99.
Hyflux has clinched an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth $672.3 million for the Ain Sokhna Integrated Water and Power Project in Egypt. Under the letter of award, Hyflux will be the EPC contractor and the operations and maintenance service provider over the 25-year concession period. Shares of Hyflux ended at 59 cents.
Keppel Data Centres Holding (KDCH) has secured contracts worth $84.5 million to provide colocation and data centre services at Keppel Datahub 2. KDCH is a joint venture between Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation (Keppel T&T) and Keppel Land. The contracts were signed with an undisclosed blue-chip client in the internet enterprise industry and a government-related entity. Shares of Keppel T&T ended at $1.43.
Sembcorp Utilities, a wholly-owned unit of Sembcorp Industries, has raised its stake in India-based renewable energy company Sembcorp Green Infra to 67.7% from 65.1% previously. Sembcorp Utilities paid about $32.6 million for the total investment through a mix of internal funds and external borrowings. Shares of Sembcorp Industries closed at $2.88.
Furniture manufacturer and retailer Lorenzo International Holdings has raised $1.2 million in a private pllacement. entered two separate subscription agreements with investors Teo Eng Chong and Lee Kim Puay for the subscription of 30 million new shares each at 2 cents per share. The counter last traded at 2 cents.
