Singapore's life industry achieved a total of S$698.7 million in
weighted new business premiums for the first quarter of 2014, up 24 per
cent from last year, the Life Insurance Association (LIA) Singapore said
on Tuesday.
Total sum assured for new businesses increased by 17 per cent to S$19.1 billion for the quarter, said Lia.
As for health insurance, some 2.71 million lives were covered with paid-up premiums amounting to S$1.5 billion as at end March, while the amount of new health insurance premiums rose 24 per cent from last year to S$81 million.
