Forex Market Update : Epic Research Singapore

The dollar retreated from its highest level against the yen in more than 2½ months Monday as U.S. equities sold off and investors braced for speeches from key Federal Reserve policy makers expected later in the week.

The buck traded at ¥123.16 USDJPY, -0.01% late Monday in New York, compared with ¥123.15 late Friday. Earlier in Monday’s session, the dollar traded as high as ¥121.62, its highest level against the Japanese currency since Aug. 21, according to FactSet.

The euro EURUSD, +0.0186%  traded at $1.0755 late Monday, compared with $1.0737 Friday.

The ICE U.S. Dollar index DXY, +0.02% a measure of the dollar’s strength against a basket of six currencies, was little-changed from Friday’s level at 98.9900.
