KOP Limited says subsidiary KOP Properties has entered into a cooperative agreement with Shanghai LuJiaZui (Group) Co. and Shanghai Harbour City Development (Group) Co. for the development of Winterland Shanghai with an estimated total investment of RMB3 billion ($663.5 million) and a site area of 110,000 sqm located in Shanghai’s Lingang City.
Under the cooperative agreement, Shanghai LuJiaZui, Shanghai Harbour City and KOPP would incorporate a joint venture company to undertake the bidding and registration of the land use rights, resort development and operation for Winterland. KOPP’s estimated effective interest in the JVC will be 60%.
It was on Aug 11 that KOP Properties announced the proposed land acquisition and resort development of Winterland.
Winterland will have an above-ground gross floor area GFA of 215,000 sqm, and a below ground GFA of 105,000 sqm, providing visitors with year-round access to an indoor ski park, apres-ski areas, multi-purpose halls and theatres, family resort hotel, retail, and food and beverage establishments.
Phase 1 of the project which includes the indoor ski-park is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019 while the remaining areas will be completed by the end of 2020.
KOP last traded at 9.8 cents.
