SGX Singapore Opening Market Update : Epic Research Singapore

SINGAPORE shares opened lower on Wednesday morning as investor sentiments were dimmed by the 16-year low in commodity prices.

This was despite major European bourses surging, while US stocks held their gains from the prior session as investors continued to show resilience after Friday's deadly terror attacks in Paris.

The benchmark Straits Times Index opened 8.78 points or 0.3 per cent lower at 2,908.

At 9.02am, some 32 million shares worth S$49.2 million were traded with losers outnumbering gainers 55 to 46.

Among the more active counters were Linc Energy, Yuuzoo and Noble.
