DBS, Raffles Medical, SingPost, Vard, UIC, OUE

Here are some stocks to watch this Monday morning.

DBS Group Holdings posted a 20% rise in 4Q earnings to $1 billion from a year ago as total income grew steeper than expenses. That beat the $965 million average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. For the full year, earnings rose 10% to a record $4.45 billion from a year ago as total income rose 12% to $10.8 billion from higher net interest margin and broad-based non-interest income growth. DBS closed at $13.68 last Friday.

Raffles Medical reported full-year earnings of $69.3 million, up 2.4% from the year before, on the back of record revenue of $410.5 million. Revenue increased 9.6% from a year ago, spurred by increases in both healthcare and hospital services. Raffles Medical closed at $4.17.

Vard Holdings has secured a $53.3 million (NOK325 million) contract for the design and construction of one stern trawler for Norwegian-based trawler company HAVFISK ASA. Shares of Vard ended at 13.2 cents.

Singapore Post says it is extending the long-stop date in the joint venture agreement with Alibaba from April 7 to May 31. Without identifying the Chinese e-commerce company by name, SingPost announced in a filing on Friday night that “the company and the investor are still in the process of fulfilling the conditions precedent as set out in the joint venture agreement” and that the two parties have agreed to mutually extend the long-stop date. SingPost closed at $1.45.

United Industrial Corporation says full year net profit fell 35% to $260.55 million on the back of a huge decrease in fair value gain on investment properties. Revenue improved 16% to S$807.2 million, due mainly to a 58%increase in revenue recognised on the sales of trading properties to $291 million. UIC last closed at $2.96.
