Vard Holdings has secured a $53.3 million (NOK325 million) contract for the design and construction of one stern trawler for Norwegian-based trawler company HAVFISK ASA.
The new vessel will be of VARD 8 02 design, featuring two separate cargo holds for refrigerated and frozen fish, a fish factory and a freezing capacity of 80 tons per 24 hours.
The shipbuilder says the delivery of the vessel is scheduled to be in 1Q 2018 from Vard Søviknes in Norway.
Shares of Vard ended higher at 13.2 cents last Friday.
