SINGAPORE stocks gained on Monday morning, with the Straits Times Index up 22.22 points or 0.8 per cent to 2,785.64.
This is against the backdrop of Asian stocks gaining early on Monday, as rising expectations of Britain voting to remain in the European Union lifted risk sentiment.
MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan gained 0.4 per cent while Japan's Nikkei climbed 1.5 per cent.
In Singapore, some 39.9 million shares worth S$69.1 million changed hands as at 9.02am. Gainers outnumbered losers 107 to 27.
