HSI -0.01% dropped 0.4% to 21,884.08 and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index slipped 0.1% to 9,892.80. Shares of AIA Group Ltd. HK:1299 +0.29% AAGIY +0.62% fell 1.6%, China Construction Bank Corp. HK:939 -0.51% CICHY +3.63% gave up 0.9% and Hang Lung Properties Ltd. 

 

HK:101 0.00% HLPPY +0.45% dropped 1.8%. Shares of Cnooc HK:883 +0.52% CEO +0.86% rose 3.9% in the downbeat market after its profit increased 7.9% in the first half of the year, driven by greater oil and gas output. China's Shanghai Composite CN:SHCOMP -0.54% eased 0.2% to 2,067.38
