Apple Inc. AAPL +0.09% has acquired Topsy Labs Inc., social-media analytic company, for $200 million, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. Topsy specializes in data obtained from Twitter Inc. TWTR +0.42% that it analyzes to track the sentiments of consumers and measure the popularity of particular items or topics. Apple shares ended Monday down by almost $5 at $551.23.
