Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 AU:XJO -0.44% was down 0.4% ahead of a rate decision by the Reserve Bank of Australia.
The Australian dollar AUDUSD -0.42% , which was slightly lower in Asia at 90.97 U.S. cents, has been bumped around in recent weeks by remarks from officials at the central bank over whether it was likely to intervene in the currency markets.
