Epic Research Singapore : Hang Seng Index

Hong Kong stocks pushed higher Monday, setting aside data released Friday that U.S. jobs growth expanded at a much slower-than-anticipated pace in December. The Hang Seng Index HK:HSI +0.21% gained 0.4% to 22,946, and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index rose 1%. Stock in Aluminum Corp. of China Ltd., or Chalco HK:2600 +6.95% ACH +3.10% CN:601600 +9.72% stood out by surging 8.5% after the company projected its 2013 operating results will swing to profit. Also up were shares of Lenovo Group Ltd. HK:992 +4.35% LNVGF +1.90% , tacking on 1.7% as the Chinese company held the top spot among worldwide PC makers in shipments last year, according to preliminary data from International Data Corp. and Gartner Inc. Li & Fung Ltd. HK:494 -0.38% LFUGY -1.09% shares turned slightly higher, up 0.2%. The company is planning to launch a safety-consulting business unit, The Wall Street Journal reported.
