Epic Research Singapore : Hang Seng Update

Away from Japan, markets broadly moved higher. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index HK:HSI +0.76%  gained 0.9%, Indonesia’s JSX ID:JAKIDX -0.64%  climbed 0.2% and the Philippines’ PSE Composite PH:PSE +0.66%   rose 0.1%.

It was a good day for Chinese markets, after Shanghai started 2014 with a series of declines. The Shanghai Composite CN:SHCOMP -0.39%  gained 0.5%, after eking a small gain on Tuesday, though the market remains 2.8% lower for the year so far.
