Japan’s Nikkei gained 1.7%, after the yen weakened against the U.S.
dollar overnight. The greenback had climbed to trade at ¥102.11 late
Thursday in New York, after gaining a total of 0.7% in the previous
session. It was last trading at ¥101.94 in Asia.
