Epic Research Singapore : Japan News Update

Japan's exports of cars, trucks and buses declined 4.9% on year in January, falling for the second consecutive month, as shipments to major regions sagged due to sluggish demand and car makers' efforts to move production overseas.

Exports totaled 326,696 vehicles in January, down from 343,692 in the same month a year earlier, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association said Friday.
Vehicle exports to North America fell for two straight months with a decline of 4.2% in the month. Those to Asia were down 5.7%, falling for four consecutive months. Shipments to Europe sagged for four straight months, dropping 10.2% in the month, the association said.
