In metals trading Thursday, April platinum PLJ4 +0.10%  added 70 cents to $1,477.30 an ounce, while June palladium PAM4 +0.34%  rose $2, or 0.3%, to $774.85 an ounce.

High-grade copper for May delivery HGK4 -0.03%  held tight at $3.21 a pound.
