Benchmark U.S. crude oil edged up in electronic trade Friday ahead of a
key industry report, though rival Brent crude fell slightly.
Crude oil for April delivery CLJ4 +0.15% picked up 10 cents, or 0.1%, to $98.130 a barrel. The Thursday session saw crude on the New York Mercantile Exchange add 21 cents, helped by growing concerns about tensions in Ukraine.
April Brent crude UK:LCOJ4 +0.06% , meanwhile, slipped 2 cents to $107.37 a barrel, slightly stretching a 63-cent loss the previous session, with the contract due to expire later in the day.
