The dollar retreated against most rival currencies on Tuesday, as
investors bought risky assets again after reports said Russia is pulling
back its troops near Ukraine’s border, in a sign that tensions may be
easing between the two country.
The euro EURUSD +0.24% edged higher against the dollar, up to $1.3753, from $1.3732 late Monday, while the British pound GBPUSD +0.11% rose to $1.6700, from $1.6660 in the previous session.
In other forex trading, the Aussie AUDUSD +0.19% jumped to 89.55 U.S. cents from Monday’s level of 89.28 U.S. cents.
