is getting ready to introduce its own smartphone later this year, a
report said Friday. Amazon is planning to introduce the device in the
second half of the year, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing
unnamed sources. The move would signal that Amazon is pushing deeper
into hardware at a time of heightening competition in the mobile market.
Shares of Amazon were up a fraction after-hours.
