In metals trading, July platinum PLN4 +0.23%  rose 70 cents to $1,439.40 an ounce, while June palladium PAM4 +0.13%  added $2.10, or 0.3%, to $789.90 an ounce
 

High-grade copper for May delivery HGK4 -0.72%  fell sharply by 3 cents, or 1%, to $3.02 a pound.
