Elsewhere in metals trading, July platinum PLN4 -0.33%  slipped $3.10 to $1,428.30 an ounce, while June palladium PAM4 -0.67%  gave up $3.60, or 0.5%, to $804.30 an ounce. 

High-grade copper for July delivery HGN4 -0.10%  didn’t budge at $3.07 a pound.
