Crude-oil futures fell Thursday, but losses were limited by a larger-than-expected drop in U.S. oil stocks and positive China manufacturing data.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange light, sweet crude futures for delivery in September CLU4 -0.11% closed at $102.7, down $1.05 from Wednesday September Brent crude UK:LCOU4 +0.08% on London’s ICE Futures exchange fell 96 cents to $107.07.
Gasoline blendstock for August RBU4 +0.36% --the benchmark gasoline contract -- fell 2.33 cents to $2.8368 a gallon while August heating oil HOU4 +0.13% closed at $2.8709, off 0.45 cents. .ICE gasoil for August changed hands at $888.75 a metric ton--up $1.50 from Wednesday’s settlement.
