Natural-gas futures on Thursday settled at their lowest since late November, rocked by a larger-than-expected increase in supplies.
August natural-gas futures NGQ14 +0.15% fell 17 cents, or 4%, to settle at $3.9540 per million British thermal units. That was natural gas’s lowest close since Nov. 29. Futures are down 6.5% so far this year.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, light, sweet crude futures for delivery in August CLQ4 +0.48% rose $1.99, or 2%, to end at $103.19 a barrel. That was the highest close since July 8.
