Oil futures ended lower Wednesday after a weekly U.S. government supply report showed a drop in crude stockpiles but, in a sign that demand might be slacking, larger-than-expected supply increases for gasoline and other crude derivatives.
Crude oil futures for September delivery CLU4 -0.67% fell 70 cents, or 0.7%, to end at $100.27 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
September Brent futures UK:LCOU4 -0.25% were off $1.21 or 1.1%, to settle at $106.51 a barrel. That’s Brent’s lowest settlement in two weeks.
