October platinum PLV4 +0.71%   rose $9.30 to $1,465.20 an ounce, while September palladium PAU4 +1.31%   added 55 cents to $848.90 an ounce. 

High-grade copper for September delivery HGU4 +0.47%   dropped four cents to $3.17 a pound.
