The British pound rose against the U.S. dollar on Monday after the Bank of England chief signaled that the central bank could raise interest rates before wage growth accelerates.
The pound GBPUSD, -0.04% bought $1.6730 on Monday morning in New York, up from $1.6696 late Friday.
