The euro EURUSD, -0.08% was worth $1.0737 in afternoon trade after a volatile session. The single currency was worth $1.0739 in afternoon trade in New York Monday.
The dollar edged higher against the yen USDJPY, -0.01% at ¥119.64, compared with ¥119.26 Monday. Meanwhile, the pound GBPUSD, +0.04% rose to $1.4929, compared with $1.4902 Monday.
The ICE dollar index DXY, +0.05% a measure of the greenback’s strength against a basket of six currencies, was flat at 97.9530.
