In other metals trade, July platinum PLN5, -0.17%  added $5.20, or 0.5%, to end at $1,158.60 an ounce, while June palladium PAM5, -0.49%  fell $1.30, or 0.2%, to $781.15 an ounce.

July copper HGN5, -0.38% added about a penny, or 0.3%, to finish at $2.7865 a pound.
