The dollar weakened against its main rivals Tuesday, adding to losses from Monday’s session, as investors worry that U.S. officials are growing more concerned about the strong dollar’s impact on the U.S. economy.
The ICE U.S. dollar index DXY, +0.01% a measure of the dollar’s strength against a basket of six currencies mostly comprising the euro, was down 0.1% to 95.1740.
The dollar USDJPY, +0.17% weakened to 124.37 yen, from ¥124.62 late in New York Monday; the euro EURUSD, -0.0089% was flat around $1.1273; the pound GBPUSD, -0.0585% rose to $1.5378, from $1.5342; the Canadian dollar CADUSD, -0.0729% strengthened to 81.01 cents, from 80.54.
