The U.S. dollar booked a weekly loss against its main rivals on Friday, shrugging off strong U.S. data, as investors book profits after last week’s gains.
The ICE U.S. dollar index DXY, -0.20% a measure of the dollar’s strength against a basket of six currencies, was flat at on the day to 95.4200, and down 1.4% for the week.
The euro EURUSD, +0.0799% inched lower to $1.1256, from $1.1268 late Thursday in New York; the pound GBPUSD, +0.2900% strengthened to $1.5556, from $1.5516; the dollar USDJPY, -0.03% traded at 123.40 yen, from ¥123.5490.
