SINGAPORE shares opened 0.1 per cent higher as at 9.04 am on Friday, with the Straits Times Index up 4.86 points to 3,352.53 following overnight gains in the US markets on the back of positive retail sales numbers.
About 149 million shares worth S$112 million in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$0.75 per share.
The most actively traded stock was Albedo, which rose S$0.004 to S$0.017 with 59.8 million shares changing hands as trading resumed following a halt. The company announced that it was buying a majority stake in a Taiwanese aesthetic medicine group for S$18.9 million.
Other actives included Noble Group and Xpress Holdings.
Gainers outnumbered losers 92 to 57, or about 8 up for every 5 down.
