SINGAPORE share prices opened weaker on Tuesday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) down 17 points or 0.51 per cent to 3,306.13 as at 9.01 am, ahead of the US Federal Open Market Committee's two-day policy meeting.
Top gainers in early morning trade included Venture Corporation, Raffles Medical Group, Spindex Industries, and Banyan Tree Holdings.
A total of 32.7 million shares worth S$83.5 million had changed hands as at 9.01am. Losers outnumbered gainers 100 to 50.
