Other metals finished on a mixed note Tuesday after posting declines Monday. October platinum PLV5, -1.98% shed $4.30, or 0.4%, to $984.30 an ounce, while palladium PAU5, -1.86% added $17.40, or 2.8%, to $629.45 an ounce.The selloff in precious metals had also hit base metals such as copper, which has lost more than 5% month to date. The September contract HGU5, -0.97% fell less than a penny to $2.475 a pound on Comex.
