Jardine Cycle & Carriage posted a 15% y-o-y decline its 2Q earnings to US$183.7 million ($253 million), from US$215 million a year ago.
Revenue for the three months ended june 30 fell 13% to US$4.22 billion from US$4.83 billion previously.
Jardine C&C says the weaker bottomline was due to reduced contribution from Astra’s businesses, particularly the automotive operations and agribusiness, though this was partly compensated by improved results in its direct motor interests segment and an initial contribution from other interests segment.
On its outlook, Jardine C&C says the timing of a recovery is “uncertain”.
An interim dividend of 18 US cents was declared.
The counter ended 60 cents or 2% lower at $29.55.
