In other metals, October platinum PLV5, -0.94% climbed $27.60, or 2.9%, to wrap up the session at $989.80 an ounce, while September palladium PAU5, -0.46% tacked on $9.30, or 1.6%, to end at $606.20 an ounce.High-grade copper HGU5, -0.31% for September delivery finished up about 7 cents, or nearly 3%, to $2.40 a pound.
