SINGAPORE shares opened 0.37 per cent or 11.79 points higher on Monday to 3,214.29 as at 9.02am. Meanwhile, in the rest of the region, shares took cues from a lower Wall Street close on Friday and dipped early on Monday. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan slipped 0.2 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei fell 0.2 per cent and South Korea's Kospi lost 0.5 per cent.
Some 51.4 million shares worth S$84.1 million changed hands, with gainers outnumbering losers 81 to 59.
