In other metals trade, September silver SIU5, +0.44% rose 4.9 cents, or 0.3%, to $14.745 an ounce.October platinum PLV5, -0.65% lost $$4.90 to end at $985 an ounce, while September palladium PAU5, -1.57% fell $9.70, or 1.6%, to $620.55 an ounce.
September copper HGU5, -0.97% lost 2 cents to end at $2.36 a pound,
