Forex Market Update : Epic Research Singapore

The dollar edged lower Tuesday, shrugging off a strong reading on U.S. consumer confidence, as investors waited to see if Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen would provide more monetary-policy guidance in a speech set for Wednesday.

The euro EURUSD, +0.0533%  rose Tuesday as U.S. stocks trimmed earlier gains but ended mostly higher. The shared currency traded at $1.1250 late Tuesday in New York, up 0.2% from its level late Monday in New York. The dollar USDJPY, +0.10%  fell 0.1% to ¥120.10 from ¥119.92.

The ICE U.S. Dollar index DXY, -0.02% a measure of the dollar’s strength against a basket of six rivals, slipped 0.1% lower to 95.9000.
