The Straits Times Index was up 0.1% at 2,898.27 shortly after the open, showing the muted reaction of investors to the US Federal Reserve's overnight decision to leave its benchmark interest rate unchanged.
Many in the market had expected the Fed stand pat.
Hongkong Land traded 2.2% higher and CapitaLand Mall Trust rose 1.6%.
Jardine Matheson fell 2.5% while Golden Agri-Resources lost 1.6%.
Ascendas REIT, which announced on early Friday it had signed deals to buy a portfolio of Australia properties for around US$724.5 million, gained 1.3%.
