U.S. stocks fell on Tuesday, ending a five-day winning streak, as investors focused on upcoming quarterly reports that are expected to reflect a dip in corporate earnings. The Dow Jones industrial average edged up 0.08% to end at 16,790.19 points. The S&P 500 lost 0.36% to 1,979.92 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.69% to finish the day at 4,748.36.
The Straits Times Index ended the day 1.62% higher at 2,897.41, after trading between 2,876.12 and 2,899.06. Excluding warrants, gainers outnumbered decliners 263 to 138.
