SGX Singapore Closing Market Update : Epic Research Singapore

SINGAPORE stocks finished 0.3 per cent higher on Tuesday, with the Straits Times Index advancing 7.42 points to 2,852.97.

The bluechip index got a small boost after China announced that it planned to strengthen structural reforms.

Trading volumes continued to taper off. About 1.21 billion shares worth S$664.3 million in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$0.55 per share.

The most actively traded counter was Vashion, which closed flat at S$0.001 with 121.6 million shares changing hands. Other actives included Terratech, which had been queried by the Singapore Exchange for unusual trading activity on Monday, and LionGold.

Gainers outnumbered losers 223 to 159, or about seven up for every five down.
