StarHub, mm2 Asia, Singtel, Aspial, OSIM

The following stocks may be in focus today:

Singtel Innov8 Pte Ltd, Singtel's wholly owned subsidiary, has invested $0.71 million in local engineering company HOPE Technik.This consist of 130,423 HOPE Technik shares, priced at $5.43 each. Following the investment, Singtel Innov8's stake in HOPE Technik will increase to 21.3% from 18.7%. Singtel Innov8 is the corporate venture capital fund of Singtel.

StarHub has acquired a 9.05% stake in film and TV content producer mm2 Asia for $18.04 million. StarHub's partnership with mm2 Asia goes back to 2012. The telco has made investments in the Ah Boys To Men and Lion Men movie series, both of which were co-produced by mm2 Asia.

Aspial Corp, a firm involved in real estate, jewellery and financial services, is making its second foray into the retail bond market with its offering of four-year bonds. The bonds carry a fixed interest rate of 5.30% per annum, payable semi-annually in arrears. The offer of up to $75 million in aggregate principal amount of four-year 5.30% bonds due 2020 comprises a public offer of up to $50 million in Singapore and a placement tranche of up to $25 million.

PriceWaterhouseCoopers has been appointed the independent financial adviser to advise the board of OSIM International on OSIM founder Ron Sim's bid to take his company private at $1.32 a share. A circular containing the IFA advice and the recommendations of the independent directors on the offer will be sent to shareholders within 14 days of the despatch of the offer document.
