Singapore stocks may face more volatility this week as investors keep their eyes peeled on the US Fed's thinking on interest rates.
The minutes of the March Federal Open Market Committee meeting will be released on Thursday. Traders will also be focusing on Fed chair Janet Yellen's panel discussion with the central bank's former chiefs Ben Bernanke, Alan Greenspan and Paul Volcker on Friday.
The market is also awaiting Singapore's Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data due later today and the International Monetary Fund's latest World Economic Outlook on Wednesday.
Last week, Yellen indicated that she was in no hurry to raise US interest rates amid a sluggish global economy, fuelling a market rally. And despite rosier-than-expected US job numbers out last Friday, investors do not expect higher rates until June or later in the year.
