THE Straits Times Index opened 13.74 points or 0.47 per cent higher at 2,933.28 on Wednesday, after the Dow Jones Industrial Average set a new record for the sixth consecutive day on Tuesday.As at 9.02am, some 72 million shares worth S$72.6 million had changed hands, with gainers outnumbering losers 67 to 43.
Actively traded counters (by value) at the start of trading included Wilmar International, Thai Beverage, Singapore Press Holdings and Singtel.
