Frasers Centrepoint (FCL) and developer An Duong Thao Dien Real Estate Trading Investment (ADTD) will, via a JV in G Homes House Development, develop a residential-cum-commercial project on a 1-ha prime residential site in Ho Chi Minh City at an estimated cost of US$85 million ($115.1 million). FCL ended 0.63% lower at $1.58 on Tuesday.
Sembcorp Marine's wholly-owned subsidiary Jurong Shipyard has extended the standstill agreement with North Atlantic Drilling to Sept 2, 2016 from the initial deadline in June. The standstill agreement, which was first announced in December last year, relates to the delivery of a semi-submersible drilling rig known as the West Rigel. Shares of SembMarine ended higher at $1.685 on June 8.
Mermaid Maritime has clinched six subsea contracts worth US$15 million ($20.3 million). The contracts, which are largely based in South Korea, Indonesia and India, include subsea survey, inspection, repair and maintenance works, as well as the use of underwater Remotely Operated Vehicles. The counter closed 9.4% higher at 11.6 cents on Tuesday.
Mary Chia Holdings CEO Ho Yow Ping is facing additional charges in relation to staff employment matters. The new charges relate to a breach of the Massage Establishment Act. This is in addition to Ho's three existing charges under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act announced on May 13. Shares of Mary Chia were last traded at 6.3 cents on June 8.
Engineering firm TTJ says 3Q earnings surged more than eightfold to $13.4 million compared to a year ago. Revenue jumped 262% to $53.7 million, owing to its structural steel business. Gross profit margin also increased from 24.9% to 33.8% as a result. TTJ ended unchanged at 29 cents on Tuesday.
