Crude-oil futures rose in electronic trade Friday, adding modestly to their tepid gains the day before ahead of U.S. jobs data due later in the day. Benchmark U.S. crude oil for April delivery CLJ4 +0.29% rose 34 cents, or 0.3%, to $101.90 a barrel, extending Thursday's 11-cent advance on the New York Mercantile Exchange. London-traded Brent crude for April UK:LCOJ4 +0.19% added 31 cents, or 0.3%, to $108.41 a barrel. Among the petroleum products, April gasoline RBJ4 +0.10% held steady at $2.95 a gallon, while April heating oil HOJ4 +0.31% added a penny, or 0.3%, to $2.99 a gallon. Natural gas for April delivery NGJ14 -0.45% retreated by 2 cents, or 0.5%, to $4.64 per million British thermal units after a monster 3.1% rally Thursday on the back of bullish weekly U.S. inventory data.
