In metals trading, April platinum PLJ4 -0.07%  lost 80 cents, or 0.1%, to $1,486.00 an ounce, while March palladium PAM4 +0.14%  rose 40 cents, or 0.1%, to $781.55 an ounce.

High-grade copper for May delivery HGK4 -0.72%  lost 2 cents, or 0.7%, to $3.20 a pound.
